Three Silly Squirrels

It never fails.  Friday morning arrives and it’s slow getting up out of bed.  Somehow I manage to get myself up and start my day.  Friday’s are especially tough because my boyfriend gets to sleep in and relax.  I on the other hand, am off to work!  Although it is a fair trade off because he has to get up on Sunday’s and I can sleep in.  I couldn’t imagine having to work on the weekends (other than my usual chores).

Of course I am running late for work…  I didn’t feed the cat, didn’t pack my lunch, didn’t have time to stop for my Friday coffee treat.  I barely remembered it was jeans day at the office.  Phew, glad I didn’t miss out on jeans day!

I grabbed my purse and was out the door.  Well, almost!  I glanced out the back door to see three silly squirrels playing under the tree.  What a sight it was to see.  They were running, chasing, somersaulting…  I couldn’t believe what was going on right in front of me.  Those little squirrels didn’t have a care in the world.  They were having a blast.  My crazy cat was at my feet and didn’t even notice them!  That is probably a good thing because he might have gone nuts watching them.

Suddenly, it didn’t really matter that I was late anymore.  Work would still be there when I got there (I did make it on time by the way).  I was refreshed, energized and ready to take on my day.  Who knew three silly little squirrels could make my day! Sometimes I need to remember to stop… take a step back… and enjoy what’s right in front of me. What a great Friday it turned out to be!

Next Week? No, This Week!

I keep telling myself next week…

Next week something will inspire me to start writing…

Next week I will make my first post…

Next week I will break out my Gregg Reference Manual to help me proof my writing…

This has been going on now for a few months.  I keep telling myself I have to find the inspiration to write.  Well, inspirations have come and gone.  I have had plenty of opportunities to document them.  It’s not the inspiration to write but the part where I have to actually sit down and make the time to write.  I decided tonight it’s not next week…  It’s this week.  This is the week I will make my first post.  Today I will make my first post.

Hang in there with me!  I am still trying to navigate my way through the site and figure this thing out.  If you are reading this, I was successful!  Phew, baby steps…

I hope to be able to express my creativity as it unfolds in the coming days, weeks, months, years…  Who knows!  That’s not all though - That Gregg Reference Manual I mentioned a few lines up is coming out!  I also hope to strengthen my grammar skills in the process.  Structure of the English language never was my favorite class.

The hard parts over!  I made my first post.  Stay tuned…
